This was unexpected for the achievements of two brothers (Guillermo and Iker Echevarria) who had a background in the design industry and then engaged in a supercar industry. The emergence of 05 was inspired by a history of sports cars and legendary that appeared before. Vuhl’s first creation is ‘The 05’ which is a barebones car that is among the short car variants but is able to run very fast on the asphalt.
The 05 first appeared in a concept in 2013, introduced by former British F1 driver Stirling Moss at the Royal Automobile Club London. The Vuhl 05 design was inspired by the Can-Am riders in the 70s. There are no doors, no roof, no glass and exposed rollbar. The challenge is to make the essence of an iconic car born of a contemporary concept without looking like a retro car.
The speed of this car comes from a 2.0-liter Ford engine, which can produce 285 horsepower. And in the future it can compete with the Porsche 917 and McLaren M8F.
