2014 Volvo S60 Specs and Review

Volvo S60 comes with new forms such as a new front design, dynamic appearance, and sporty design. The wolf’s headlights are more focused creating new expressive ‘faces’. Wider grille, daytime lighting and a new LED alloy headlight on the rear lights. This car has a clean surface and contour beauty giving a strong Scandinavian feel.

Inside, there are improvements such as new upholstery colors, new wood patterns, new headliners, and silk metal frames around the air vents and lighting controls. Overall very warm and comfortable, like being in a warm Swedish home on a cold night. The color theme fits beautifully with the backlit white control on the dashboard.

There is a choice of chassis settings, which are designed according to the customer’s personal needs. Volvo S60 buyers have a choice of four types of chassis – Touring, Dynamic, Four-C (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept) and Lower Sport Chassis, previously only available in the R-Design version.

Volvo is equipped with HMI (Human Machine Interface) and Connected Touch Census functions. This allows connectivity and the internet in the car and turns a 7-inch screen into an infrared, scanned touch screen that can be used even when wearing gloves – the world’s first in a car and useful in winter !. Connections are made via a 3G / 4G dongle installed in the driver’s car or cellphone.

Users have access to full Internet browsing (except while driving), Internet music streaming, Internet radio (TuneIn and Orange Live Radio) with thousands of channels from all over the world, Maps and on-line Search (Google), Embedded Connections Embedded Embedded 3D Navigation with online traffic info and hazard zone warnings, free parking trackers, weather information, a number of native and web applications, App Store for new functions and updates and Volvo service trackers. It is also possible to share a WiFi network with everyone in the car.

Adaptive Digital Display is available on S60. This active TFT (Thin Film Transistor) crystal display brings interaction between the car and the driver to a new dimension, always displaying the most important information in any situation.

Drivers can choose between three graphic themes: The Elegance theme is a basic mode with a traditional and calm aura. The Eco theme features green background lighting, designed to create an environment-inspired look. The Eco gauge is displayed on the left. Current and accumulated fuel consumption figures are displayed – and the driver is rewarded with a green E light when optimal eco-driving. The Performance theme has red background lighting, creating a sporty atmosphere. In the middle, the speed counter scale replaces the speedometer displayed in the Elegance and Eco versions. Vehicle speed is displayed digitally in the center of the screen. The right screen includes a power meter – a gauge that tells the driver how much power is available and how much power is used at a certain time.
