The S80 is a luxury car that offers optional engines like the T6. Features a Scandinavian Volvo design with a variety of interesting instruments such as innovative technology, slick travel, spaciousness and comfort. This luxury and modern sedan is an elegant premium vehicle for German executive cars that are in demand and strengthen Volvo’s leadership in terms of safety, quality and environmental care. In addition, the car also offers high level driving pleasure, thanks to extensive development on roads in the UK, powerful new engines, and sophisticated chassis dynamics.
Using the three new turbodiesel which reduces fuel consumption and emissions is a welcome addition to this model. This includes two five-cylinder turbodiesel, 2.4 liters – 2.4D (175PS) and D5 (205PS). 2.4D now offers 175PS, 420Nm of torque from 1500-2750rpm and 0-60mph in 8.4 seconds. The D5 has 205PS torque, 420Nm from 1500-3250rpm and 0-60mph is possible in 7.5 seconds (8.5 Geartronic).
Both engines produce excellent fuel savings of up to 60.1mpg and 47.9mpg for 2.4D in combined and extra-urban cycles, and 56.5 mpg and 45.6 mpg for D5.
Meanwhile, the new entry level 1.6D DRIVe engine presents class-leading CO2 emissions of only 129g / km plus 57.7 mpg in the combined cycle.
The optional engine also includes a high-performance 315PS VPS, which is used in high-end All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) versions and 2.5T gasoline units 231PS.
The new Volvo S80 displays a number of exterior design changes that produce a lower, longer and wider position, which further increases the car’s attractiveness. Despite the new look however, the latest S80 is clearly Scandinavian in style and functionality.
The company hopes that a new line of engines, sophisticated driving and handling, distinctive Scandinavian designs and the latest advances in safety technology will increase S80 sales in the UK, especially in the corporate sector. The new DRIVe model will have its own appeal here thanks to low CO2 emissions and impressive fuel savings for such a large car.
S80 is the leader in the field of personal safety and security. Technical innovations include the Personal Car Communicator, which checks whether the car is locked or not locked, whether the alarm has been activated, and can also feel if anyone in the car is not invited. Collision Warning with Automatic Brake helps avoid getting into the car in front, while Blind Point Information Systems (BLIS) register if there are other vehicles at the blind spot, next to the car.
The new sedan also features two new chassis to increase comfort and driving ability. The Dynamic Lower Option provides greater quietness and athleticism on the road, while the Comfort chassis is designed to fit a more gentle and relaxed driving style.
