Zagato is probably best known for his collaboration with Aston Martin, but they are not the only car in which the coachbuilder Milanese has applied his trademark. Early this decade they designed a sports car called Perana Z-One.
Perana Z-One first appeared in concept form at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. Designed in Italy, developed by Superformance in South Africa, and based on the Chevy Corvette C6. It takes several years to start production.
The unit we saw here was built in a narrow gap in 2012. He wore a two-tone silver color and carried a 6.2 liter LS3 V8 engine, and sent 430 hp to the rear wheels via a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Allegedly to be one of only seven units sent to the United States, this car is being offered at 125,999 USD. It might look expensive for a vette that ‘changes clothes,’ but when you consider how much Aston is asking for the special Zagato variant, it looks like this will look cheap.
