This one off-road vehicle, might be enough to attract the attention of automotive enthusiasts. Based in the Volvo factory, the AT XC70 Concept has been widely modified to meet the demands of an unforgiving and relentless environment. With this knowledge, Volvo and the aftermarket ipd tuners work together to build the AT all-wheel-drive Volvo XC70 Concept. Working with cars supplied by VCNA, IPD began working on the project about four months before the opening of the 2005 SEMA event. With a long history of providing improved performance, appearance and suspension for Volvo vehicles, IPD was well aware that the AT XC70 can push limits but still, in essence, remains Volvo. The concept drawing was submitted by IPD and VCNA management finally chose the car launched at SEMA 2005.
But for all all-wheel drive, the Volvo XC70 AT, in essence, is as safe and sturdy as the factory standard XC70. As required by Volvo, all systems and safety features must be in perfect working conditions and react as designed in the event of a collision or other type of accident. Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA), along with Volvo aftermarket specialist, ipd, launched a major cross-border utility vehicle, the Volvo XC70 All Terrain (AT) concept at the SEMA 2005 trade show in Las Vegas, Nevada. Built to handle almost all situations on the road and off the highway, the AT XC70 is inspired by the tiring Baja 1000 desert race held annually in Baja, Mexico.
The idea for the Volvo XC70 AT Concept hatched during the launch of the XC70 2005. In an effort to show how truly its capabilities the Volvo XC70 is in off-road conditions, the Volvo Car Corporation invites media from all over the world to the Mexican desert of Baja California, big fingers, sand, rocks , and charred cactus that protrudes outward. The Pacific Ocean.
A three-day trip crosses the famous Baja 1000 desert racing track and tests the stock of the Volvo XC70s for the final exam. The cars passed with bright colors, but the event itself caused some Volvo executives to wonder how far we could push it.
Perhaps the most inspiring is the custom XC70 AT paint. This is actually the color that Volvo has used before. In 1997, Volvo launched a car that made the automotive world in its collective ears. Titled Saffron, this metallic paint was originally seen in 1997 when Volvo launched the C70 coupe that was arranged nicely. Deep orange, speckled yellow and red and sparkling silver hints at a beautiful sunset Steel that seems to last for hours in a crystal clear sky in Mexico.
2005 marked the third anniversary of VCNA participation at the Special Equipment Association trade show in Las Vegas. But instead of focusing on all-out street performance, the 2005 Volvo concept was made to handle almost all off-road situations. The rough beauty and brutality of the Mexican desert and the legendary off-road racing Baja 1000 are the inspiration behind the amazing 2005 Volvo XC70 AT Concept.
