V70 AWD is offered to individuals who are looking for the security of all-weather traction in premium cars. Using a proven viscous clutch system used by Volvo Cross Country, the Volvo V70 AWD provides power to all four wheels when the system senses that the front drive wheels are losing traction. Standard features include: special wheels, proven power from the proven 2.4-liter 5-cylinder engine with low pressure turbocharging and 5-speed automatic transmission electronically controlled with Geartronic shifting, just to mention a few.
The choice of three models in the two-wheel drive configuration (2.4, 2.4T, T5) makes it possible to adjust the Volvo wagon concept to certain tastes and needs.
Added to each model a long list of standard features are: Stability Traction Control (STC) for models 2.4 and 2.4T and T5 get Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC) for the 2002 model.
